Why?
- Over the long haul cheaper than paying for checks from your bank
- Very cost effective if you have a small business/non-profit and you write a lot of checks as Business accounts don't often get free checks from their banks
- Allows you to print checks AND deposit slips for multiple accounts/multiple designs with the right software -- so there IS a benefit even if your bank offers "free checks"
- If you change address you don't have to shred a bunch of old checks; just start printing new ones with the new info (you ARE shredding any unused checks, right???)
